Bio: Eric's career has taken a large slide downwards, though there is still time for him to turn it around. It is unsure whether or not he will remain a member of the Red Sox, but if he does he'll back up first base, and a little bit at third base. He can also play the corner outfield positions, and will act as a solid fifth outfielder behind Pena. Hinske won the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2002 with the Blue Jays. His first game with the Red Sox after a waiver trade was against the Yankees. Hinske roped three doubles.
Projected 2007 Statistics: .270, 10, 30, 35, 25
Fantasy Outlook: same type of deal as everyone else on the Red Sox bench. If one of our starters at the corner infield positions goes down, Hinske will move back in and fill in. If you're a Hinske fan, hope for a trade to a place where he can play everyday. Eric would be a decent production guy if he were given another chance to be a starter. He won't get that chance without injuries involved in Boston.
